Pee-Wee as Himself, Will & Harper Lead Documentary Emmy Nominations

Pee-Wee as Himself and Will & Harper lead the documentary Emmy nominations.
Pee-wee as Himself and Will & Harper lead the documentary and nonfiction side of this year’s Primetime Emmy nominations. Pee-Wee, directed by Matt Wolf scored five nominations including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. The documentary offers an intimate portrait of late TV icon Paul Reubens as he gives a rare interview as himself, rather than his media Pee-wee Herman, who delighted children in a career marked by controversy. Also scoring five nominations is Will & Harper after coming up short at the Oscars. The film by Josh Greenbaum also received a nomination for its original song “Harper and Will Go West” in a category that combines original numbers across genres.
Winners for the Emmys will be revealed in September.
